This tattoo is inspired by my grandma who passed away almost 4 years ago. The quote, ” Always together, never apart. Maybe in distance, but never in heart.” It states that no matter where I am in life the ones that mean the most, are always close in my heart. I got the hummingbird also because it symbolizes everlasting energy and she was the type of person where she never stopped making others happy. I hope she is proud. <3

This picture was taken right after my tattoo was finished.
It’s a cover-up, but unfortunately i don’t have a quality photo of the original tattoo. The original tattoo was a hummingbird as well, but it was poorly done in my friend’s living room when i was 15.
I got this tattoo because it reminds me of my grandmother. We used to watch hummingbirds out the window at my cottage, and after she passed away i could never see a hummingbird without thinking of her. We both endured abusive relationships— sexually, verbally, physically, and emotionally. Unfortunately she was never able to escape hers. I left mine several years ago now, but i’m still growing and i still feel the pain from it. I got the hummingbird tattooed on me to remind me of her incredible beauty and strength, and to remind me to always have strength in my relationships.
